Anna Louise Hauber, age 91, of Osawatomie, Kansas, died February 15, 2014 at the Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri.

Ann was born February 24, 1922, in Burlingame, Kansas. She was the only child born to Edward and Anna (Curley) Rosetta. The family moved to Osage City, Kansas when she was a baby. Ann graduated from the Osage City High School with the Class of 1940.

Ann was married to William F. “Bill” Hauber on June 27, 1944 in Osage City, Kansas. They lived in Slater, Missouri until 1949 where they managed movie theaters. Then they were transferred to Osawatomie in 1949 to manage the theaters there. Ann worked in the theaters with Bill until 1952. When Bill quit the theater business, Ann went to work at the Osage Valley Credit Union. She became the manager in 1961 and retired in 1984. After Bill’s death in 1984, Ann became the treasurer of the Osawatomie Unified School District #367 and served in that position until 1999, a term of 15 years. Ann went to work part time for the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in 1985 and worked there until 2003.

Ann was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she held many offices. She also served as Past President of the Wesleyan Service Guild; Past President of the United Methodist Women; Past Worthy Matron of the Osawatomie Chapter #26 Order of the Eastern Star; Past Grand Representative of Massachusetts in Kansas of the Grand Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star; Past Guardian of Job’s Daughters; Past President of Delta Epsilon; Past President of PTA; a member of the Chamber of Commerce where she had served on the Board of Directors several times. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Osawatomie Senior Citizens Center. Ann was a member of DO Chapter of P.E.O. Most recently, Ann had served as a volunteer for the Foster Grandparent Program.

Her parents and her husband preceded her in death. She is survived by her children Sandra Hanson and her husband Elmer of Puyallup, Washington, Janey Hauber of Kansas City, Missouri, and Bill Hauber and his wife Jackie of Lawrence, Kansas; four grandsons Allen and Scott (Maria)Hanson of Federal Way, Washington; Brad (Samantha) and Jeff Hauber of Lawrence, Kansas; 4 great grandchildren Elizabeth Hanson, Jordan Hauber, Savanna Hauber, and Analucia Hanson; many other relatives and friends.
